KETTLEBELLS - BODY SCULPT (60)
From beginners to experienced can participate in this class together. Originating in Russia, a kettlebell is a centuries-old training tool that looks like a cannon ball with a handle. Kettlebell training elevates the heart rate for effective cardiovascular training by either using swinging movements utilizing the whole body along with momentum or used in more traditional press and squat exercises. Kettlebell exercises are whole-body exercises requiring full body integration and core stabilization. We combine a mixture of skills building and high intensity circuit training for a fun and challenging experience. The intensity of the session can be modified by using different sizes of kettlebells or by changing the number of repetitions. Kettlebell training will build long lean muscles, improve strength and power in the upper body, core and lower body and increase co-ordination, joint mobility and overall endurance.

Tabata is an exercise strategy alternating periods of short, high-intensity anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods developed by Japanese professor Dr. Izumi Tabata to train Olympic speed skaters. This workout method is all about timing. The basic formula is 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest. The 20/10 ratio has been shown to work both aerobic and anaerobic metabolic pathways, showing improved fat burning and increased metabolism by using 80% of muscles in the body. You are effectively burning fat and building muscle at the same time! Tabata consists of a warm up period of exercise, followed by repetitions of high intensity exercise, separated by medium intensity exercise for recovery and ending with a cool down period.
